Road Construction Update (Jan 30-Feb 5, 2017)

January 30 – February 5, 2017

Working jointly with Douglas County, Sterling Ranch is executing significant improvements to bring surrounding roads up to current code standards. Sterling Ranch is committed to improving the safety and mobility of surrounding roads and is developing an internal road network to keep drivers, bikers and pedestrians safe.

We will continue to provide regular updates to keep you informed and minimize any inconvenience. Thank you in advance for exercising caution while construction crews work on these improvements.

Titan Road Improvements
There are no scheduled activities that affect Titan Rd this week. Any additional updates will be posted as they become available.

Wadsworth & Waterton Intersection Improvement
A new traffic pattern is now in place. With the work zone in the center of the road (between traffic lanes), please use caution and watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the work zone.

During the week of Jan. 29, motorists should expect flaggers at the Wadsworth/Waterton intersection from 2:30p-6:30p Monday through Friday.

•Southbound Wadsworth Boulevard traffic headed to Waterton Road: use dedicated left-turn lane approximately 1,000 feet north of the intersection

•Southbound Wadsworth Boulevard traffic headed to Lockheed Martin: stay right

All Waterton Rd. traffic onto Wadsworth Blvd. must turn right. The traffic from Waterton Rd. headed to Lockheed Martin plant shall use the temporary U-turn cross over on Wadsworth approximately ¼ mile north of the Wadsworth/Waterton Rd. intersection.

•On Saturday, Feb. 4 and Sunday, Feb. 5, crews anticipate moving southbound Wadsworth into a new traffic pattern. Please check the project website (jeffco.us/transportation-and-engineering/projects/wadsworth-and-waterton-road-intersection) for more information as it becomes available.

A single lane closure remains for Southbound Wadsworth. This lane configuration will be in place for several months. By performing this work now, crews will be able to construct most of Wadsworth Boulevard while Phase 1 work is completed. Phase 2 work, which constructed the east side of Wadsworth Boulevard, was accelerated and is nearing completion. All work is weather-dependent.

In order to construct the project, lane closures are necessary. Motorists should expect some peak period delay on all intersection approaches through spring 2017. The current traffic pattern will be in place through February. The speed limit on Wadsworth Boulevard has been reduced to 25 mph. Fines are double within the work zone.

This is a Jefferson County project – for any questions, please email wadsworth_waterton@workzone.info or call 303-217-1000. Also, visit the project website (jeffco.us/transportation-and-engineering/projects/wadsworth-and-waterton-road-intersection) for more information and graphics of the new configuration.
