There’s a reason the Sterling Ranch development has been so thoughtfully planned: Its management team includes third-generation Coloradans with successful careers in real estate, development and finance.
HAROLD SMETHILLS, PRINCIPAL & MANAGING DIRECTOR
Harold has assembled successful teams and achieved extraordinary economic impact over the years as CFO of Adolph Coors Company, COO of ACX Technologies, and CEO of American Business Products and Menasha Corporation. Whether steering Fortune 500 companies or directing the Sterling Ranch master plan, Harold’s objectives are always formed by the philosophy of achieving a ‘win-win’ outcome for everyone involved.
JACK HOAGLAND, PRINCIPAL
Jack brings 30 years of land acquisition, entitlement and development experience to the project. He previously served as Director of Land Acquisition for Kaufman and Broad’s Colorado Division and Vice President of Acquisition for Colorado’s largest homebuilder, Richmond American Homes. In 1995 he was instrumental in the move of Elitch Gardens from North Denver to the city’s Central Platte Valley.
DIANE SMETHILLS, PRINCIPAL
Diane boasts more than 35 years of experience in marketing and real estate development. After working for the American Broadcasting Company and National Geographic in New York City, she returned to her native Colorado to establish herself in real estate. Prior to helping negotiate the purchase of the Sterling Ranch property, she worked for The Trammell Crow Companies.
JIM YATES, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Jim is a certified public accountant and experienced real estate professional with the ability to provide strategic and operational expertise. He is responsible for providing financial support and strategic guidance to the executive team. Before joining Sterling Ranch, Jim was the National Vice President of Finance for MDC Holdings, Inc.
