Working Together to Build a Timeless Place to Live
Sterling Ranch Partners
Sterling Ranch is a community like no other — a place where the latest technology is used to optimize lifestyle, where we continuously innovate and advocate for wise management of all natural resources, and where everything we build is with our children’s futures in mind.
As we began making our vision of Sterling Ranch a reality, we quickly realized we couldn’t do it on our own. We needed the guidance of people and organizations that specialized in the very things we wanted to see come to life here. So, we enlisted their help.
Our deepest gratitude
In partnership with this progressive, globally renowned technology company, we created a state-of-the-art smart-tech community — the first of its kind in the United States. Together, we will continue to innovate and implement forward-thinking technologies to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to community-wide resource management, safety, security, and home automation.
Lumiere is Sterling Ranch’s on-site technology partner. They support us daily to operate and optimize our Internet network and all Sterling Ranch smart home and smart community features, delivering all Sterling Ranch residents an exceptional technology experience.
Partners in Energy
Our participation in Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy program helped us establish a plan to become a carbon-neutral energy community by 2040. The Partners in Energy program doesn’t stop at plan completion. This ongoing partnership provides the Sterling Ranch community with additional resources and support as the plan is implemented in the coming years. Finalized in 2020, our Energy Action Plan outlines concrete goals and strategies to make our ambitious vision for a sustainable energy future a measurable reality.
We’ve created a unique partnership with this Internet provider — we own our fiber while it provides our cable and Internet connections.
We are proud to have UCHealth as our health care partner — these professionals provide our community with essential primary care, urgent care, and physical and occupational therapy services.
As our education partner, Vanderbilt is able to connect its Engineering and Education programs by using Sterling Ranch as a source of information to empower and inform its students about environmental sustainability. In turn, Vanderbilt will help us develop a future-focused, environmentally friendly curriculum for Sterling Ranch schools.
Clough Cattle Company
It’s no secret that in the West, wildfires are a potential threat. Mitigation is key, which is why we’ve partnered with self-proclaimed “suburban rancher” Matt Clough, owner of Clough Cattle Company. By grazing the meadows surrounding Sterling Ranch, Matt’s cattle minimize fire danger (not to mention fertilize and aerate the land) as part of our Prairie Management Plan. Best of all, Clough Cattle Company shares our values — namely, stewardship of the land and family: Matt’s daughters, true cowgirls, take pride in the mission and work alongside their father every chance they get. The Water Infrastructure and Supply Efficiency (WISE) system delivers quality renewable water supplies to residents of Northwest Douglas County by partnering with Denver Water, Aurora Water, and members of the South Metro WISE Authority. This partnership is one of the first of its kind in the United States — something we are proud to pioneer.
Denver Botanic Gardens
The Denver Botanic Gardens searched the globe and provided us with an invaluable, extensively researched list of plants that not only grow best in the climate, terrain, and location in which we live but also help our smart-water-management efforts. We have implemented their findings into the water-wise landscaping guidelines for the Sterling Ranch community.
Bird Conservancy of the Rockies
For years, we have collaborated with Bird Conservancy of the Rockies on a number of notable studies, including an in-depth look at the burrowing owl. We also worked closely to develop a long-term prairie management plan for Sterling Ranch — helping protect indigenous wildlife. The Conservancy further aided us in becoming a bird-friendly community by identifying plants that are critical to our climate and the native birds’ food chain. Today, the Conservancy offers a variety of educational opportunities right here at Sterling Ranch, so that our residents can learn all about birds and enjoy a bird-watching lifestyle.
Lamb Spring Archeological Preserve
In conjunction with Nathan Boyles, president of Metcalf Archeological Consultants, Inc, and Lamb Spring Archeological Preserve, we developed protocols to preserve animal migration patterns — as well as any archeological finds at Sterling Ranch — so that our development grows wisely, honoring the land on which we are building and protecting the wildlife around us.
Thanks to our incredible partners, Sterling Ranch is what it is today — a place where people can live happy and healthy lives as we continue the quest for developing a sustainable, empowered, timeless community.
