There’s a lot happening at Sterling Ranch. Check out a few photos and videos which chronicle how our values are showing up throughout our community.

The Big Guy, good ol’ St. Nick, came to town to visit our Sterling Ranch children and spread some holiday cheer. He was joined by his wife, Mrs. Claus, who helped keep track of everyone’s holiday wishes. Everyone loved the magic of the day while enjoying cookies, crafts and live music. One thing’s for sure: Sterling Ranch residents love celebrating together right in the neighborhood!
One thing’s for sure at Sterling Ranch: Our residents know how to have fun together! Our calendar is teeming with events, making it easy for residents of all ages to find something exciting to do. We recently put on a Trunk or Treat event so the kiddos could trick or treat safely. Parents had a blast decorating their cars, and it was obvious that everyone loved dressing up! Just a few days later we partied, sang and danced the night away at the Sterling Center & Grist Brewing Company for the Dueling Pianos event! It’s events like these that make living at Sterling Ranch extra sweet. Check out a few of the photos we captured below

Remember camping in your backyard as a kid? Sterling Ranch brought back that tradition in our back yard with the first overnight camping event on Sterling Ranch property! Families enjoyed campfire food, s’mores, special entertainment, wildlife education and outdoor games. It was a great experience for so many families and offered opportunities to connect with friends and neighbors! We had so much fun, this might become an annual tradition around here.
When we say joy resides here at Sterling Ranch, it’s not just a catchy tagline. It truly is the culture of this special place. Residents come together everyday to celebrate and simply do life together. A few recent events planned by our very own Community Lifestyle Director, Kelsey, include a Hawaiian-style Luau, Father’s Day fishing fun at Chatfield State Park, and a new Summer trend of community block parties for the first Friday of every month. Check out photos below and be sure to browse our Community Events page to get a feel for the kinds of events Sterling Ranch residents are enjoying.
Sterling Ranch has changed a lot since 2017 when our first Pioneer residents started moving in. In the last five years, we’ve successfully opened three (of nine planned) unique villages, with over 1,200 homes and 3,000+ residents (at this writing). We are so honored that these amazing people saw the vision for what could be and chose to make their home here. And many more are moving in each month! It certainly feels more like home with them all here. Read more about our progress here, and check out a few photos of how Sterling Ranch has evolved over the last few years below.
We were grateful to host the Colorado Avalanche “Game On” Mobile Rink with UC Health, right here at Sterling Ranch on January 29, 2022. Bernie, the Avs mascot was on hand to offer street-hockey tips and add to the fun for our neighborhood kids. Game On is a free and fully mobile street hockey event created to promote and grow the game of hockey throughout the state of Colorado. Participants received instruction from the Colorado Avalanche Amateur Hockey Development staff and got to play inside the inflatable rink, shoot at the Avalanche shooting targets and participate in drills. All attendees received an Avalanche branded street hockey stick and ball. See the excitement in the gallery below.
Sterling Ranch’s development plan embraces Colorado’s Western Spirit. Cattle and ranching are important parts of our history and a sustainable future. When Sterling Ranch was first purchased for development, it had been overgrazed for years and was nothing but weeds and dirt. With a more sustainable future in mind, we had the land cultivated and planted and then brought back cattle and implemented rotational grazing. The result is vibrant prairie land that provides both forage and shelter for wildlife and an incredible wildlife habitat for our residents to respect and enjoy. Cattle grazing is a key part of our strategy to build a robust ecosystem. Fire risk is reduced as excessive grass fuel is eliminated. The cattle’s hooves aerate the land, and their manure fertilizes the land (in the same way buffalo have for hundreds of years). By keeping the grass grazed, we provide protection from predation for burrowing owls and other species. In November, our trusted Cowhands moved cattle from their summer grazing pasture through Sterling Ranch to their winter grazing pasture and invited our residents to observe this great tradition of the west. Here are a few photos we captured of the day.
One of the things we hear most from our residents is how connected they feel to the community and their neighbors because of the variety of family-friendly and FUN events planned by our very own Lifestyle Director, Kelsey Wolfe. The event calendar is always teeming with things to do right in the neighborhood. Fall has barely begun and residents have already celebrated the closing of our pool at the Overlook Clubhouse with a Puppy Plunge for all the resident pooches; they captured the new season on canvas during a Paint & Sip event; they soaked up the rays and tunes during the annual Fall Festival and Chili Cookoff. Browse through all the fun captured in pictures below.
The home styles at Sterling Ranch are a reflection of everything we love about our enchanting state. Our home builders adhere to a defined set of Design Principles and Architectural Styles to create the charming streetscapes you see as you meander throughout each village here. We celebrated the 4th of July holiday with our annual Stars & Stripes event. For days leading up to the big day, we held a patriotic house decorating contest for residents, which sprinkled our whole community with red, white and blue. On July 3rd our residents gathered to celebrate together at Providence Park with a bike parade, a concert with Barton Brothers Dueling Pianos, fun activities and a fan favorite, the In & Out Burger food truck semi! Catch a glimpse of all the fun in our gallery below and be sure to visit our Happenings page to see all Sterling Ranch community events here.
We’re loving the warm weather and opportunities to connect — and cool down — at Sterling Ranch! Browse some pics of our residents kicking off summer right during our pool opening party held Memorial Day weekend. The celebrations continued as our Summer Concert in the Park Series kicked off on June 10th, featuring Colorado-grown country singer, Buckstein. The summer concert series continues through August. Our residents love getting together to celebrate the outdoors, each other, and the new Overlook Clubhouse. From fitness classes, to fun with art, to cool stuff for the kids and meet & greets for our new residents, our Community Lifestyle Director keeps our community active and socializing.
From a New Year Fitness Challenge to group fitness classes to the parks and trails that wander through the Great Outdoors, Sterling Ranch residents are practicing one of our core values — wellness. Take a peek at some of the health and wellness events happening around here.
Sterling Ranch experienced massive growth in 2020. We welcomed nearly 400 new families. We began development of two new villages — Ascent and Prospect. Dream Finders Homes, Tri Pointe Homes and Pulte Homes joined our already impressive roster of top-notch home builders. We opened our first rec center which our residents took great joy in naming The Overlook Clubhouse. And Primrose started building a new preschool at the front of the community right next to the Sterling Center.
We’re most proud of the massive growth we experienced in positive relationships and connections. Our community continued to thrive in the midst of a pandemic, and our community events — while different — remained a cornerstone of the incredible lifestyle our residents know and love. Browse a few photos from our 2020 Sterling Ranch community events in the gallery below and click here to learn more about the community events that made 2020 extra special.

On August 10th and 11th, 2019 we hosted the first-ever Denver-Metro Tough Mudder. As you can see from the video and photos here, Tough Mudder events showcase epic mud-soaking obstacles which often play on common human fears such as fire, water, electricity and heights. Crossing a Tough Mudder finish line takes a whole lot of guts and radical teamwork as most obstacles require group participation. Learn more about the Sterling Ranch Tough Mudder here.
