Show gratitude at Sterling Ranch
Practicing gratitude doesn’t require sweeping gestures or time-consuming efforts. As the saying goes, a little goes a long way. Here are some simple ways to show gratitude for those right here in the Sterling Ranch community:
- Handwrite a thank-you card to a neighbor or friend who has shown you kindness
- Leave a glowing review for a nearby business, such as one you frequent at the Sterling Center
- Head out with the family and clean up any debris you may find to help keep the community’s public spaces beautiful
- Salute a local veteran who has bravely and selflessly served our country
- Whip up a batch of cookies or mini loaf treats and deliver them to those who deserve recognition for their community involvement

Give back in the Denver-Metro area
Helping those in need extends beyond the borders of Sterling Ranch, and there are plenty of opportunities to show gratitude by giving back throughout the Denver-Metro area. When we come together and help one another as Coloradans, we thrive. Here are some impactful ideas:

Open Arms Food Bank
Did you participate in the 2021 Food Drive at Sterling Ranch? This drive collected food for the Open Arms Food Bank in Littleton. While our on-site drive may have ended, you can stay involved during this season of giving (and throughout the year!). Food and monetary donations are always welcome, or you can spend time volunteering at the facility (Tuesday afternoons are a prime opportunity).

Coats for Colorado
For 40 years, Coats for Colorado has been collecting jackets for those in need. The organization’s efforts help keep Coloradans of all ages warm during the winter months. Have a spare coat or two tucked away in your closet? Put them to good use and benefit those less fortunate. Dropoff locations are located throughout the Denver-Metro area, including three in Highlands Ranch.

Give Blood at Vitalant
Want to help save a life this season? Consider giving blood! Hospitals are always in need of reserves, and replenishing their blood bank is critical. Make an impact in your community today — visit Vitalant.com to find the location nearest you — and mark your calendar to participate in the Community Blood Drive at the Overlook Clubhouse on December 20.

The Giving Tree
Sterling Ranch is once again participating in The Giving Tree gift drive to benefit the Salvation Army and Kids Crossing, two organizations that work tirelessly to serve children and families in the community. Pick up a tag at the Overlook Clubhouse between November 22 and December 17 and help spread holiday cheer. Gifts must be returned unwrapped.

Help & Hope Center
The Help & Hope Center is Sterling Ranch residents’ direct link to help fellow residents in Douglas County. With a variety of volunteer opportunities, for everything from public relations and events to building maintenance, you’re sure to find a fulfilling way to pitch in and serve other families in the area.

Colorado Gives Day
Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, December 7 — what a wonderful opportunity to “give where you live”! Easily search for the nonprofits you wish to support and know you’re making a difference and showing gratitude for the good work these organizations do in the community.
