Sterling Ranch is a unique master-planned community near Denver, Colorado. Nestled between two state parks — Chatfield and Roxborough — and surrounded by three regional parks and a national forest, our residents have ample opportunities to indulge in the great outdoors year-round. And boy, do they take advantage of this wonderful perk!
Sterling Ranch Resident Spotlight: Meet Donna Sirhal
Donna Sirhall, a long-time Sterling Ranch resident, is a great example of someone who embraces and appreciates her locale. Donna has enjoyed Colorado and its glorious natural beauty for many years, and when it came time to buy a larger home, she knew just where to look. “When Sterling Ranch was announced and model homes were starting to be built, we jumped at the opportunity to build our dream home. Ours was the fourth house our home builder put into production. We love the fact that our new home has an amazing view of the area we cherish.”

“To me the most important thing in life is family, neighbors and community. Sterling Ranch has supported these things by putting us in a beautiful place with adventure all around us. It has helped us be more social by planning events and having constant gatherings at Grist Brewing as well as through clubs and groups. Living here has given me the opportunity to motivate others to stay fit even in the winter when we aren’t outside as much. I know that as the community grows, we will continue to make new friends and welcome them into our lives.”

Soaking up the Colorado lifestyle
After moving here, Donna and her family began pursuing hobbies they’d never tried before. “We have spent so much more time outdoors since moving to Sterling Ranch. We bought kayaks and paddleboards to enjoy more of what Chatfield State Park has to offer. . . . If we aren’t in our kayaks, we are biking from our house into Chatfield via the new entrance that has been built. We also enjoy the food trucks and Grist while meeting many friendly neighbors. We feel like there are so many activities to do nearby that we would run out of daylight,” Donna describes.
Keeping wellness alive and inspiring others to do the same
In addition to enjoying nature, Donna loves riding her Peloton bike. Like many other residents, she is motivated when it comes to wellness (one of our core values) and we are so glad she is, because her passion has ignited a fire within others. In fact, when the coronavirus pandemic began, she started a Sterling Ranch Peloton Facebook group, which motivates and keeps a great number of residents happy and healthy. “Before we knew it, our little group grew from 20 to 110 current members!” Donna said. “We have come together day after day to support each other through fitness. . . . Not only do I get to ride along with my neighbors but we have helped each other through the roughest year some of us have known. It has kept us all well not only physically but mentally as well. The group has given us the ability to come together in a safe way.”

Enjoying the Sterling Ranch neighborhood
After soaking up the sun’s rays at a state park, Donna and her family enjoy spending time in their incredible backyard, which is custom designed to host get-togethers and movie nights. Additionally, they love spending time with neighbors in the nearby pocket park and have been known to order pizza for delivery at the park for all to devour after a playful game of catch with the kiddos.
Donna feels blessed to be part of our community and we feel equally lucky to have her here! She explains, “To me the most important thing in life is family, neighbors and community. Sterling Ranch has supported these things by putting us in a beautiful place with adventure all around us. It has helped us be more social by planning events and having constant gatherings at Grist Brewing as well as through clubs and groups.
