Tis the season of giving and Sterling Ranch residents are getting involved!

With Thanksgiving and the holiday season just around the corner, we thought that helping those in need could be a great way to come together and make a difference in people’s lives. We’ve planned a variety of events that encourage giving back to the community.

One of these events was incredibly rewarding and the other is coming up THIS week! Check out the details below.

The Sterling Ranch Food Drive Was a Success!

On Saturday, November 2nd, Sterling Ranch residents had the opportunity to participate in a Food Drive — many dropped off non-perishable food items and unused toiletries at the Sterling Center. Coffee and pastries were provided by Atlas Coffee to those who donated and boy did they donate! After the event, we dropped off a whopping 213 pounds of food and toiletries at the Help and Hope Center!

The Help and Hope Center provides various services for those in critical need. Services include food donations, housing and utilities assistance, emergency overnight lodging, and more. We were so happy to be able to contribute to their mission.

Give The Gift Of Warmth This Holiday Season! Coat Drive Coming Tuesday, November 12th!

Here’s another opportunity to give back this November! On Tuesday, November 12th from 6:30am – 8:30am, join Sterling Ranch residents Melissa Thomsen and Kim Van Horn from Colorado Home Realty for a Morning Coat Drive benefiting the Denver Rescue Mission!

The ladies are incredibly excited for this event. “We all need help sometimes and donating coats to the less fortunate is one way to meet a tangible need,” says Melissa. “We have already had neighbors reach out to contact us about donations that they have. We are excited to be able to help those in need,” Kim added.

The ladies are both passionate about the Denver Rescue Mission and what the organization represents. “The Denver Rescue Mission has been serving the Denver community for more than 125 years. Their mission is to help others by showing the love of Christ through their programs so it makes me happy to help them in this small way. We love Sterling Ranch and by involving our neighbors in helping others we hope to continue to strengthen our community,” Melissa mentioned.

If you would like to donate to this wonderful organization and help a great cause, join us! Drop off any gently used coats of all sizes in the Sterling Center roundabout on Tuesday morning. To sweeten the deal, Kim and Melissa will provide complimentary Atlas Coffee and a granola bar as a thank you for your donation!

    Practicing Gratitude

There’s a lot to be thankful for this holiday season (and every day!). It can feel incredible to practice gratitude, acknowledge the good in our lives and to pay it forward to those in need. If you have any ideas about what we can do to get our community involved in the service of others, we would love to hear from you. Let’s keep the spirit of giving and gratitude alive all year long!
