June was another event-filled month for our community here at Sterling Ranch. (If you missed our recap of events that took place in May, you can check those out here.) We’re dedicated to enhancing the lives of our residents, and it’s exciting to see so much participation and enthusiasm as our community grows.
First Annual Sterling Ranch Block Party
The biggest event in June was organized and run by residents, and it was a huge success! The First Annual Block Party at Sterling Ranch took place on Saturday, June 1. Over 500 people came out to enjoy games, food, drinks, and get to know their neighbors. Read the full recap and watch a video from the event here.
Nothing says summer like a baseball game! On June 15, just in time for Father’s Day, residents were shuttled to a Rockies game and given a $10 concession credit — all for only $20! Go Rockies!!
Water Treatment Plant Tour
The water system at Sterling Ranch uses cutting edge technology to deliver fresh, renewable water to its residents. On June 15, the Community Authority Board organized a tour of the Larry D. Moore Water Treatment Facility to give residents an up-close look at its fascinating inner machinations.
Community Food Truck Night & Moonlit Movie
Piney River Park is the biggest open area in Providence Village and the perfect setting for community events. On June 19, several food trucks rolled into town and served up delicious options for dinner. As the sun went down, a giant movie screen was set up in the middle of the park so that residents could watch an outdoor movie. Everyone settled in with picnic blankets and camping chairs to enjoy the show.
Kids love storytime, and summer is a great time to remind kids to put down their tech and pick up a book! On the morning of June 24, the Douglas County Library held a special storytime for kids at the Sterling Center. Rhyming, stories, songs, and interactive fun were a hit with the kids, and they were inspired to visit the local library branch in Roxborough.
Barre in the Park
Sterling Ranch resident Britney Palmer owns and operates Barre3 Highlands Ranch, a fitness studio that combines ballet barre, yoga, and pilates. Britney held her second outdoor event of the summer on June 26. Open to all fitness levels, the third and final class takes place July 24.
Every Tuesday from 7:00-9:00pm residents gather in teams to compete in weekly trivia challenges at Grist Brewing Company. Party Pro DJ’s keep it fun and lively, and amazing prizes keep residents coming back for more!
There’s always something happening at the Ranch — just one of the ways we strive to serve our community and bring residents together. Stay tuned for more event recaps in July. Who knows? If you join our community, you just might be in one of the photos!
